Leon Oldale, our resident colour specialist in the prepress department here at Still Creek Press, arrived at work this morning to discover that the feature picture on the front page of today’s Vancouver Province was none other than that of his own four-year-old daughter Phoebe, sitting on Santa’s knee.
Leon and his wife Jacinda had gone to the Park Royal Shopping Centre to take their two kids to visit with the REAL Santa. This old fella had a genuine beard and all, which was put to a rigorous test when Phoebe tugged on it.
If any of you out there are finding that your local newspaper boxes and corner stores are sold out of today’s edition of The Province, it’s most likely as a result of Leon’s tireless pursuit in purchasing as many copies as he can find for friends and relatives of the family.
