Still Creek Press Texas Hold ’Em Tournament
There were two winners at the 5th Annual Still Creek Press poker tournament: Big Brothers, and Gus Ruiz’ wife.
Over $500 was raised for Big Brothers, while Gus walked away with the top prize – despite having never played poker before – he handed his winnings over to his better half to help defray the costs of raising their 6 kids.
The event was played at Still Creek Press, with 32 players at 4 tables playing Texas Hold ’Em. Entrants paid $20, with BBQ and Beers available cheaply. The end result was a really fun night for all, most of all Gus, who played with a reckless abandon born from of a lack of understanding about what was actually happening.
Big Brothers is one of the main charities supported by Still Creek Press, who also raise money for breast cancer awareness. Be sure to sign up for next year’s tournament, and get in on the fun.
